“Our old conservatory was over 20 years old and well passed its sell-by-date! We struggled to use it as a room, as it was too hot in summer and too cold in winter, so it just ended up being somewhere for the kids to dump their bags when they came in from school, which was a real waste of space!
We tried to integrate the conservatory into the kitchen to make the space more useful. We knocked down the outer wall between the kitchen and conservatory to make it one area, but unfortunately, all this did was make our kitchen area colder!
We’ve used James from Garden Rooms Midlands for a number of years, so when he was round one day working on another project, I asked him for a bit of advice as to what we could do with the existing conservatory. Being circular in shape, I was worried that the existing conservatory would be expensive to replace, but James suggested that we could use the original footings to help keep the costs down. And it did! As soon as we got the quote, we told James to go ahead, as it was a no-brainer! We’ve now got a beautiful large kitchen area, with 2 sets of bifold doors that open out onto the garden. It’s so much warmer because it has a proper roof to help keep the heat in, yet is still light and airy, and helps connect the house to the garden.
We love how James has made it look contemporary, with the aluminium finish, which makes it integrate better with the house than just having another conservatory added on. It’s got a real WOW factor, instead of just another white conservatory, and everyone who visits comments how amazing it looks.
We’re so pleased that we asked James to help us. He’s such a genuine, honest guy and his advice is invaluable. We’ve now booked him in for a few more house projects, including building a similar garden space at our son’s house! Thank you, James, for all the help you give us.”
